About Me

I set the aquarium up in January 2005 and 1 week after adding my live rock I got new tank syndrome. So for 2 weeks not only did I sleep on the floor in our family room but my room stank out the house and the water turned green and smelt like a sewer. I stuck to changing 40 liters of water every day though, nearly spewing every time from the smell, but I kep imagining what the end result would look lik, and that it was worth it. So when that was done the tank got back to normal and I got some more rock, base rock this time, as I didn't have enough money for more Live Rock.

I guess that the main thing that I have learnt is that "You only get what you pay for" and by spending the extra dollars on a quality brand, it saves alot of troubble down the line.

This is the very first picture
of the tank. I don't know why
I bought that ugly background,
I think I was used to the fresh
water picture backgrounds.

I had now added the water,
I had to take 4 trips to
the ocean to get the water,
but I made is decision
because buying salt water
is so expensive, I just have
2 storage crates that I take
home and what I don't use I
store till next time.

The pumps had been running
for 2 days now and the water
was crystal clear.

Here I had just got
16 Kg of Live Rock.

I aqua scaped it and
it took me about 4 seconds
to realise that I needed
more rock!

I bought 10 Kg of Base Rock and
aqua scaped it again. This time
it took 4 seconds for the to
realise I loved it!

Now I had finaly gotten some
coral and got a new back ground,
it was all starting to look better.

I got some more coral and I
was really starting to get
some life in there. I also
bought 1 mated pair of
Ocellaris Clown Fish.
